After Warnings, Enforcement Begins

The City of New Haven, Connecticut, is taking action to improve traffic safety with a new photo enforcement program, using advanced technology from NovoaGlobal, focused on reducing red-light violations and dangerous speeding in school zones, high-risk intersections, and other areas with significant pedestrian activity.

The program supports New Haven’s broader Vision Zero commitment to preventing traffic fatalities and serious injuries by encouraging drivers to stop at red lights and obey posted speed limits.

    • MLK Boulevard & Church Street
    • College Street & George Street
    • Park Street & South Frontage Street
    • Orange Street & Edwards Street
    • Prospect Street & Highland Avenue
    • Quinnipiac Avenue & East Grand Avenue
  • 📍 Speed Enforcement Location:
    • Sherman Parkway

Violations are civil infractions and do not result in points on a driver’s license or reporting to insurance providers. Every potential violation is reviewed by a certified technician and verified by a New Haven Police Officer before a citation is processed.

The goal is simple: safer streets for drivers, pedestrians, students, seniors, and everyone who travels through New Haven.
