I Have a Dream....

Today we recognize and celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr’s life and contributions to this country.

“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech touched the hearts of millions and still echoes in the minds of many today.  

MLK Influences Us Today

Dr. King’s influence was a critical factor in such milestone legislation as the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and the Voting Rights Acts of 1965.  The Civil Rights Acts of 1964 prohibited discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin in employment. This legislation helped to create a legal framework that promotes diversity in the workplace by prohibiting discriminatory practices and ensuring equal opportunities for all individuals. This is something NovoaGlobal adheres to in its employment practices every day. 

Dr. King’s focus on “the content of our character,” as the goal of human interaction and judgment above immutable characteristics of race and skin color is still as pertinent today as it was in the summer of 1963.
